Artificial Intelligence & Cybersecurity Research Consultant Nithya Arun has made significant contributions to advancing secure and responsible AI through applied research, adversarial machine learning, and AI workforce development. With over 12 years of experience spanning academia and industry, she currently serves as an AI Security Consultant at DefenAI and Adjunct Faculty at Lithan Academy, Singapore, where she leads specialised programs focused on AI security, model governance, adversarial AI testing, and responsible AI practices.

Over the course of her career, Nithya has trained and mentored more than 6,000 students and professionals across both national and international platforms, including learners from India, Singapore, and Malaysia. At Lithan Academy Singapore alone, she has successfully delivered multiple AI-focused cohorts, training more than 200 students in advanced AI and cybersecurity-related domains.

Her expertise spans a broad spectrum of AI and emerging technology disciplines, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, AI Security, Responsible AI, Power BI, Azure cloud platforms, machine learning algorithms, and secure AI deployment practices. She has consistently focused on bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industry implementation through practical, hands-on, and governance-driven AI education.

Her work stands out for operationalising applied AI security and adversarial AI training environments integrating MITRE ATLAS threat modeling, AI governance frameworks such as ISO 42001 and AI Verify, secure model deployment, and adversarial machine learning testing. Her practical research focuses on identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities in AI systems, including prompt injection, jailbreak attacks, model evasion, poisoning attacks, and inference-time risks.

Nithya has also contributed to AI research through multiple journal and conference publications covering machine learning, deep learning, intelligent systems, text classification, and medical image analysis. She actively develops applied AI security learning environments using tools such as IBM Adversarial Robustness Toolbox (ART), CleverHans, FuzzyAI, and Azure-based AI workflows to strengthen organisational AI resilience and cybersecurity awareness.

Beyond research and training, she has played a critical role in enabling future-ready AI talent by designing industry-aligned curricula, conducting faculty development programs, and promoting ethical, secure, and governance-driven AI adoption across academia and industry.
